How to paint lips red

Here, among us, I am going to tell you that for me there is no other color than red to paint my lips. I know there are pinks, purples, browns, none of that interests me. I also know that there are nude, pale, natural colors. Nothing to see, to look faded I leave my mouth unpainted.

The color red cheers, and makes you look happier immediately. Also, if you decide not to wear makeup, a mouth painted red is all you need to look groomed.

I hope you don’t tell me that red is very garish. What are you talking about? Red is THE color. However, to look good with lips painted red, you need to follow a few steps.

1 Choosing lipstick well

1 Choosing lipstick well

Yes, it’s true, there are great lipsticks of modest price. But honestly, none are as good as expensive ones. I do not care that the blush is cheap, or that the mask is low price (what’s more, those are the ones I use), but the base and lipstick I prefer to be of good quality and that shows in the price. Lipsticks of a certain price have more beautiful colors and, above all, last much longer. A cheap lipstick runs, stains the teeth and has to be constantly reapplied.

2 Simple method

2 Simple method

It’s the one I use every day. I put a little bit of eye moisturizer on my lips, I wait a few seconds for it to dry, I put on the lip paint directly with the lipstick, I look in the mirror to be sure that there was no side different from the other, next to the lips as if I were going to give a kiss and I am ready. Duration: 10 seconds.
I know it’s not the right way and I should spend more time, but red is so wonderful that it even works.

However, if you want to be more serious than me, you must follow a series of more rigorous steps…

3 Exfoliation

3 Exfoliation

While your lips (and your face in general) should be perfectly exfoliated, sometimes they are not. With red lipstick, dryness is very noticeable, so try to exfoliate regularly with an exfoliating cream, with your toothbrush or, with wet lips, rubbing a little with a dry towel. Do not overdo it, the idea is not to leave your lips scratched. Once you exfoliate your lips, apply a light layer of moisturizer.

4 Base

4 Base

There are people who, when using the base, apply it on the entire surface of the face, including the lips. That gives a kind of canvas on which they can paint better. It’s one way to do it. If you do not use base, do not worry, as long as your lips are well hydrated, that will be enough.

5 Outline

The ideal is to have a profiler pencil of the same color as each of your red lipsticks. Many houses have them. The idea is that you profile your lips carefully, which will prevent the paint from running. Also profiling them will make you adopt the shape of the mouth you want, fixing what you do not like. However, profiling must be comprehensive. Once you make the profile of your lips, with the same pencil you must also fill the lips. The idea is that your lips never fade and only the profile is left.

6 Filling

6 Filling

Once you have your lips pre-painted with the pencil, it’s time to fill it with the lipstick. Some people apply directly from the tube. Others use a brush to achieve greater accuracy. Still others make a mixture: they use the lipstick directly in the center of the lips and the brush in the ends. You go testing what is best for you and what suits you best.

7 Seal

7 Seal

Once you have your lips perfectly painted, you can seal the results in several ways. The simple way is to put a tissue between your lips and squeeze slightly. This will remove the excess.

Another way is to apply compact powders on the lips. Of course, you will do it lightly. Then, you reapply the lipstick in your preferred way. You end up with tissue.

One of the disadvantages of the color red is that you have to be aware of the state. If you talk a lot, drink or eat, it will surely disappear. Do not forget to bring a mirror to check your lips and reapply whenever it is needed.
