Night facial cleansing routine

Facial cleansing is a fundamental part of our maintenance, but also, the one that avoids a good part of the problems of our skin. If your cleaning routine is good, that means you will have less chance of pimples, blackheads, your pores opening, redness or irritation and, of course, you will have fewer wrinkles with age.

Some girls think that if they don’t wear makeup, you don’t need to clean your face at night. That is a serious mistake. Throughout the day your face has been exposed to the elements, you have sweated and pollution has been deposited on your skin. At the end of the day, your skin is covered by a light film of oily and dirty. It’s not nice and I covered the pores.

1 Cleansing

Indispensable. You wear blush, mask, concealer, base, lipstick. All these pigments are deposited in your skin. The way to eliminate them in a good makeup remover. If the makeup remover is cream, spread it on your face with a light massage and then remove it with a cotton swab. If your makeup remover is liquid, apply it to your face with a well-soaked cotton swab. Do not rub the skin of your face, the idea is that everything comes out smoothly.

2 Micellar lotion

2 Micellar lotion

Micellar lotions are great. They look like water, but they remove makeup in the best way. There are people who consider that it is not enough to remove waterproof mask, for example. For them it is better to first use the makeup remover and, when there are no traces of makeup, clean the remains with micellar lotion. That’s my way and it has worked well for me.

3 Soap or cleansing lotion

3 Soap or cleansing lotion

Here too it depends on you. For some women, micellar lotion is more than enough. Others prefer to finish the job by cleaning well with a liquid or bar soap, specially designed for facial skin. If your skin is very oily, you use a lot of makeup or you live in a highly polluted area, it may be a good option. Remember that the soap must be special for your skin type, delicate and anti-allergenic.

4 Tonic

4 Tonic

Once your skin is clean, it’s time to tone it up. The toner closes the pores, reduces irritations, completes cleansing, balances the Ph of the skin, helps control oily skin. There are toners with alcohol and toners without alcohol. Always try to use non-alcoholic toner. The one that contains alcohol can be very strong and dry out your skin. In addition, it can leave a very unpleasant feeling of tightness on the skin.
In this case, it is convenient that you ask your dermatologist what is the tonic that he recommends as part of your ritual.

5 Humectant

5 Humectant

A fundamental part of the night ritual. Night is the time when the skin is regenerating, so it is also time to use special creams for the night, which will nourish and moisturize it more than daytime.

It is important that you choose the right cream for your skin type. It’s not a matter of filling your skin with fat and thinking that it should work well. If you have very dry skin, you should choose a cream that moisturizes and nourishes. If you have it very greasy, moisturize and repair, without increasing the sebum.
From some ages, it is better to also use a serum that is more concentrated and then apply the cream.

6 Exfoliation

6 Exfoliation

Once a week, at least, it’s time to do a deeper cleaning. In this case follow the cleansing steps and, before the tonic, carefully exfoliate your skin. There are very good scrubs from almost every brand. If your skin is easily irritated, it’s best to use the softest one. You can also make your own exfoliating products with sugar, salt and honey. In any case, do it without exaggerating. The idea of exfoliation is to remove dead cells from the surface, but not to scrape your skin.

Once you finish the exfoliation, remove the remains of exfoliating cream with plenty of water. Finish with the tonic and moisturizer.

It is better that you do not use makeup remover wipes but very occasionally, since they do not leave the skin well clean and leave your skin full of chemicals that can produce breakouts or irritations.
