Strength training with dumbbell

How to do it

  • Firstly, assume a proper standing posture, head high, and shoulders straight, holding the dumbbells in each hand.
  • Secondly, curl up each dumbbell one at a time towards the opposite shoulder, ensure your shoulder is not slummed, and avoid moving your body as you swing; lastly try to make sure it is just your hands doing all the movement.

Dumbbell bench press

If you want broader shoulders, stronger triceps, and forearms, the dumbbell bench press has got you covered.

How to do it

  • Firstly, lay back on a flat bench, holding each dumbbell over your chest.
  • Secondly, push your arms up until they are straight, then lower them back.

Barbell

Strength training barbell is most likely the most popular weight. It is a long bar with weights attached at each end. Here are some ways you can work these big guns.

Barbell squat: for your glutes and hamstrings.

How to do it

  • Firstly, hold the barbell, with your hands apart, thumbs on top of it. Your head dipped under the bar so that it is positioned on the top of your back.
  • Secondly, ensure that the barbell is just at the base of your neck, and your chest is out, and elbows raised.
  • Thirdly, squat with the barbell, pushing your butt backward.
  • Finally, stand back up, ensuring your knees do not rub off against each other.

How to do it

  • Hold the barbell, with your hands apart, thumbs on top of it, and your head dipped under the bar so that it is positioned on the top of your back.

How to do it
